Mountain Lions
There was a recent news story about a group of women cyclists who were attacked by a cougar.
This is a good reminder to stay alert when out in the wilderness!
These creatures have various names:
- Mountain Lions
- Cougars
- Panthers
- Pumas
Tips:
- Stay in a group
- Keep children at arm’s length
- Do not run, pick up children in case they run
- Appear larger
- If the lion approaches: shout, throw branches, do not turn your back
- If attacked, fight back
